Clarins Spring Collection

Clarins Spring Make-up Collection 2012: Colour Breeze

Clarins spring Make-up Collection was launched here in Ireland nearly two months ago. I picked up two products from the collection and ever since I have used both almost everyday so I wanted to fill you guys in.

I purchased the limited edition cream/liquid blush, Instant Light Blush in Vitamin pink 01.
The consistency is more like a fluid rather than a cream but it delivers a lovely pop of pink colour to your cheeks in an unconventional way. Check out the applicator. A little product goes along way.

I also had to get a new lip-gloss. Gloss Prodige in shade raspberry 06.
These lip-glosses are not limited editions and will stay on as a permanent lines. There were many shades available and as usual I picked up a pink tone straight away. I am always buying pink glosses and lipsticks.

Oh my, I think I have just found my favourite Nail Varnish! What a beautiful pastel  lilac colour!

Essence shade 42: Dress for a moment

Essence is an amazing affordable cosmetic brand! Their products really don't break the bank. And this nail varnish was actually on sale for 65cent in my local chemist. BARGAIN!!!

Loving it! This nail colour will definitely be a staple in my Spring wardrobe!

What do you guts think? Any other Essence lovers out there?

Sunday Shopping!

I just love having a free day to do nothing but potter about the shops.
As per usual I end up buying beauty goodies.

Here are a few items I picked up from Boots recently.

Broadway French Manicure false nails, Revlon Nail varnish and a Real Techniques make-up brush!

Revlon Nail Enamel shade 005 sheer blush

I was looking for a nice nude neutral colour but to be honest this shade just comes out clear on my nails. Sheer for sure! :-) To get the desired affect I had to apply 5 coats. As you can image with drying time this took quiet a while.Sad or what!

Broadway Nails. I done a post recently where I said I rarely use French manicured false nails so after some consideration I decided it was time to try them out.

Real Techniques Blush brush! Yummy! I want to get my hands on all the brushes in this collection. Slowly but surely you can build a brilliant collection of brushes at a great price. This is my second brush as I have purchased the Stippling brush a couple of weeks ago.

What do you think of these products? Any recommendations on what Real Techniques brush I should go for next?

Not your usual French Manicure!

I love to wear false nails for special occasions. I never wear the French manicure type. Instead I always purchase these guys. Broadway Nails Real Life which are supposed to painted/varnished.

Here is a picture of my nails before. My nails are very brittle. They are inclined to break easily so I never reach the desired length I would actually like.

By applying the false nails it immediately lengthens my nails to long but natural length.

A little slick of nail varnish and away we go!! I love the effect that these false nail give. They are not too long, as I always purchase the short length and they have a lovely Squoval (square/oval) shape.

What do you guys think? What Other brands of false nails are good to try out?

I heart NIVEA

Good old Nivea Skincare I couldn't live without it!

Having a slight obsession with cosmetics and skincare I am always trying out new facial products but I always seem to return to my beloved favourite Nivea range.

Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Regenerating Night Cream is a miracle worker!
This moisturiser is specifically designed for people who may have dry or sensitive. Both of which I have.
After applying and good layer of this before I go to bed at night I always wake with my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.

I LOVE Nivea so much that I even have a Nivea headband that I use every time I cleanse my face, hehe :-)

Ps Did you know that Marilyn Monroe actually used Nivea skincare religiously and we all love Marilyn!

7 Deadly Sins Tag

Heads up, I have a slight ickle feeling this may be a lenghty post so I'll include a couple of pictures to take a break from reading.

My fellow Beauty Bloggers may be fimilar with the 7 Deadly Sins Tag. Many Youtubers and Beauty Bloggers are taking part in answering 7 questions. The 7 questions are based around the 7 deadly sins. But are ever so cleverly relation to beauty (of course).

My lovely friend Christina mentioned this tag to me, so I just had to give it a go.

1.GREED - What is you most inexpensive beauty product? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive product is an Essence nail varnish which cost 65cent. Bargain!
Essence Nail Varnish

My most expensive product would be Lancomes Genifique. This serum costs roughly €70 but worth every penny. A little goes a long way as I only use a droplet once a day.

Lancome Genifique

2. WRATH - What Beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What has been hardest to find?

The product I have love hate relationship with is foundation. I absolutely love foundation. Even skintone and natural coverage can really boost your confidence but the one downfall is that my skin is very temper-mental! I tend to get dry patches of skin on my cheeks. If I don't exfoliate and moisturise properly then foundation can get patchy on my cheeks(major major major pet hate). Also oil-free foundation or foundations that contain a high percentage alcohol can also irritate my skin. When push comes to shove I will always wear it. So this is most definitely my love/hate product.

The hardest product to find here in Ireland is Illamasqua and Makeup Forever. There is only one Illamasqua counter which is in Belfast (three hours away from me) and the same story with Makeup Forever. The Makeup Forever store is situated in Dublin and this city is over three hours away :-(   (if I am wrong on this please correct me as Id love to know if they may be available closer to me)

3. GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products?
This is a hard one. I had to take a moment to look through all my beauty products. It would have to be Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet in the colour 37 L'Exuberante. A beautifully matt, full coloured lipstick.

4.SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

Primer, bottom lash mascara, eyelash curlers, powder..too many :-/

5. PRIDE - What beauty product gives you more confidence?

The answer to this has to be mascara. If I were only allowed to wear one beauty product it would have to be mascara. Mascara really opens up your eyes and makes me look and feel alive.

6. LUST -  What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I really don't understand what relevance this question has to this BEAUTY tag so I'm going to answer the question that Kelsey made up for her tag. http://aswrittenbyabiggirl.blogspot.com/

Which product/brand do you find has the most physically attractive packaging?

I think Chanel have the most attractive packaging. Their products are so luxurious and I feel ever so special when I use them. As you can probably tell from this post I love love love Chanel.

7.ENVY - What item would you most like to receive as a gift?

Too many products to list here hehe! I would absolutely love a MAC professional make-up artist kit with everything that I need to start up as a professional MUA.
Or if somebody, lets say for instance my boyfriend ( whom I hope is reading this) wanted to buy me a birthday present, I would love a Clarisonic Mia. This a skin cleaning system that I have seen fellow Beauty bloggers and youtubers use and I would really love to try it out.

That is all for now guys,
I hope you enjoy this post. You should give it a go too!

He-Shi Spray Tan

I attended a fashion event during the week. As I was making an appearance on stage I decided to treat myself to a spray tan. The last time I had a spray tan was nearly 6years ago for my Graduation from secondary school. I was slightly nervous so I did a little bit of research about local beauticians and the specific tanning products they used.

In the end I decided on a He-Shi Spray Tan. Quirky name or what? The creators are a mother and daughter duo, the name He-Shi stems from a play on their first names.

This tan was named one of the most popular in Ireland and the UK. I have heard a lot of good reviews about this brand.

WARNING! Scary before and after pictures! hehe!

Before He-Shi Spray Tan

After He-Shi Spray Tan.

I am so happy with the way my tan has turned out. He-Shi Spray Tan is the way forward. The formula is very light weight and does not leave a sticky residue on your skin. I found it dried veryquick and I am thoroughly pleased with the shade it has left my skin after washing away the excess tan.
A truly Awesome Tan (if I do say so myself)

There are a whole range of He-Shi products available on-line at http://www.he-shi.eu/

L'oreal Rouge Caresse

I'm sure all you beauty blog readers out there have seen a few posts about this product. I just love them so I had to let you know one more time how great they are!

Firstly, they may look like lipstick but they are not. They are basically a mix of a lip-balm, lip-gloss and lipstick.

They are as moisturising as balm, as glossy as a gloss and give a little pop of colour like a sheer lipstick.

There are ten different shades and as usual I could not pick one so I decided to go for two. Here they are.

Left: Dating Coral 301 Right:Aphrodite Scarlet

Dating Coral: a lovely sheer peachy coral colour

Aphrodite Scarlet: pretty pink shimmering colour.

The Rouge Caresse lipsticks have a soft light-weight texture, that delicately glides on. As they are a balm they will have to reapplied every 1-2 hours to keep the desirable colour topped up.

My lips tend be quiet dry and I find it hard to get a suitable lipstick that hydrates my lips. I have to say I really like this range as they are so moisturising and you still get a beautiful colour pay off.

Anyone else in  LOVE with the L'oreal Rouge Caresse Range? What is your favourite shade?

BB-eautiful

BB Creams- what are they and where did they come from?

I've decided to do a little post regarding BB creams. All you avid beauty buffs will more than likely know all this info. For you guys that do not know much about them I just want to give a little insider info. I hope you enjoy reading.

BB creams are also known as Blemish Balms. They are mainly sold in Asia but in recent months have become a phenomenon in Europe. They were most definitely 2011's biggest beauty trend and get ready to see this trend get even bigger in 2012.

A German Doctor originally invented them with the purpose of treating and helping post laser surgery patients. They provided light coverage while still soothing and regenerating the skin.

Some BB creams claim to be "all-in-one miracle creams". This is because there are multi-functional products with multiple properties.

Here are a couple of characteristics of BB creams on the market at the moment.

  • Even out complexion
  • Cover blemishes
  • Brighten skin tone
  • Hydrate like a moisturiser
  • Soothe skin
  • Contain Sun protection
  • Some also contains anti-ageing properties

Examples of BB Creams available in Ireland and the UK are;
Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector (available in light and medium)
No7 Beautiful Skin BB cream (available for different skin types and in light and medium)
L'oreal Nude Magique BB cream (available in light and medium)
L'oreal Revitalift Repair 10 BB cream (anti-ageing properties, available light and medium)

Tips when buying a BB Cream:
Treat it as if it were a foundation, find one for your skin type and skin colour/tone. Always try before you buy.

Good Luck!!

If you have any questions or queries I would love to help you out just drop me line Id be more than happy to  help if I can.

Superdrug Haul- €5 Budget

I decided to treat myself to a few things in Superdrug today. My Budget was €5! I know your probably thinking you can't get much for that price but I wanted to test it out. I actually got a face mask, nose pore strips and a bronzer for €5.60. Ok, so Im little bit over budget but I quiet proud of my purchases. Who doesnt love bargain.

I purchased a single application sachet of Mudd sea mask. I choose this one in particular because it claims to hydrate the skin, something my skin is calling out for at the moment.

Next, MUA Bronzer (shade 3).My skin is quiet pale and porcelain, this makes me ever so picky about bronzer's. This shade seems to be quiet light,no shimmer and not too orange (always a plus). Fingers crossed!

Lastly I picked up Superdrug's deep action nose strips. Well overdue!

Pamper session in my house tonight so I will let you guys know how it goes.
