My First La Roche-Posay Product

Ok, so I cheated slightly. My first La Roche-Posay product is a sachet face mask not a full sized product. When on my hols in Portugal recently I was pottering around a chemist and came across La Roche-Posay face mask in a sachet form. I was have wanted to try out La Roche-Posay but there range can be quiet pricey. This little face mask sachet is a great way to try out something in there range and at only €2 how could I refuse. It is actually a duo sachet so you have two uses. I used one in Portugal as my skin was quiet dehydrated from using suncreams, getting burnt, walking the beach and all those lovely things you do on holidays that I desperately miss. Boo Hoo.

Returning to Ireland from Portugal was not all that bad. As we departed the plane we were shocked to see that it wasn't raining. It was actually quiet nice and sunny. All week we have had the nicest weather, some days were reaching over 25 degrees. I am sitting out in the sun everyday trying to top up my tan, don't worry I am wearing sun-cream.

My skin has got quiet a battering over the last two weeks between sunning my self in Portugal and lying on my front porch like a sun junkie in Ireland. This calls for face mask time. Last night I decided to use the last sachet while sitting down and catching up on TOWIE.

Ekk "Tightening" feeling!

The only thing I did not like about the mask was that it gave me that dreaded "tightening" feeling. I really hate this as my skin is dry enough as it is and im always afraid of having reactions to new products. I decided to wash off the excess after 10minutes instead of leaving it to sink in just in case. I have to say my skin felt really moisturised and hydrated afterwards.

Check out all my freckles :-)

Can you recommend other La Roche-Posay products that I should try out?

Mini Jewellery Haul

Purse friendly jewellery shopping spree.

Before my trip to Portugal I bought a few sneaky holiday purchases.
Here are a few items of jewellery I picked up from Penneys/Primark and River Island.

Hey Sailor.. Super cute little anchor earrings from River Islands budget jewellery range only €2, Bargain!

Both bracelets from Penneys only €3 I think there are other colours available.
Two minutes after I took this picture the yellow one snapped, I am still finding yellow beads all over my bedroom floor... On the upside the orange one is still going strong.

And one more... I could not pass by these beautiful green feather earrings from Penneys also, they were reduced to €1!

 Happy, happy, happy.

Fashion on a budget, you have to love it.
Do you have any budget or bargain jewellery finds.

Let me know what you think..
Also there are a ton of feathers left over in all different shapes and sizes. any ideas??

Rimmel Lyrca Pro Nail Polish

One of my favourite nail varnish brands is Rimmel Lycra Pro Nail Varnish.
Amazing colours, great shine and brilliant maxi brush for great coverage.

298 Pink Amazon is a great colour for pale skin. Although its name says 'pink' I would say it is actually more of a pinky/red.

The Lycra Pro Nail Varnish collection is extremely durable and long lasting.

Another Pro (excuse the pun hehe) is that Rimmel is really affordable brand available from Boots and Superdrug.

Rimmel also have many other nail varnishes ranges but the Lycra Pro Collection is by far the best.

 I am loving this colour!

What do you guys think?

Interviewed by an American Beauty Blogger

Last week the lovely Taylor from interviewed me about beauty products in Ireland. I may have only started blogging but I am loving meeting so many fellow Beauty Bloggers.

Google images

Here are my answers...

Where can you buy high end makeup? Sephora, Ulta, Department stores?
As you may already know Sephora and Ulta are Amercian stores so they not here in Ireland. When Irish Beauty lovers want to purchase high products we have different options. Many high end brands are available in department stores, retail stores and independent pharmacies. Dublin is the capital of Ireland, this huge city is home to some most beauty department stores such as Brown Thomas, House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols which stock some of the highest of high end brands. Many high end brands are only available in the larger towns and citys. For instance the nearest MAC counter to me is situated 2 hours away! :-(

What are the top 5 low end makeup brands?
There are many low end makeup brands available in Ireland.
Natural collection, Catrice, MUA, Essence and NYC.

What is the top beauty magazine(s)?
There are three main Irish beauty Magazines that I know of , 'Irish Tatler' (my fav) 'Stellar' and 'Social and Personal'. All the British magazines are also available in Ireland such Cosmopolitan and Vogue.

Are there any beauty products you can't get in Ireland you wish you could?
Cover Girl, but we do have there sister company Max Factor here. No Sephora. :-(

Have you noticed by looking at other blogs or what not that some cosmetic brands don't sell the same items in Ireland as they do in the US or other countries?
Yes I have noticed that American Lancome products are very different to Irish or European products.

Are the beauty trends the same as in the US?
I am pretty sure, that the current 2012 beauty trends such as bold coral colours and full browns are pretty similar in both countries.

Is tanning popular?
As you can probably image false tanning is very popular here in Ireland as we get no sunshine :-(

Are acrylic nails popular?
In my opinion Acrylic nails are not very popular in Ireland. They may be slight more common in larger cities but not to a huge extent.

Thanks again Taylor I really enjoyed this.Don't forget to check out her Blog!

Don't we all just love a bargain!
Wandering through a local pharmacy and I came across the Essence stand with half price stickers all over most of the products. Essence is a really affordable budget brand and for their products to be half price I just could not resist!

The Nail varnishes were reduced to 65cent!!!
So I purchased 6 :-/

Face Painting

I love experimenting with make-up, its an amazing way to express ourselves. I am always practising random looks at home. I was really happy with how this look turned out so I had to take pictures to show someone...

To get this look I only used a couple of different eye-shadows.
I have many pictures of different make-up looks.
Let me know what you think, and if you would like to see more.
